José Ignacio and its surroundings form a cultural hub where diverse artistic proposals merge, combining museums, events, and visual arts.

Perhaps the most well-known space is MACA by Uruguayan sculptor Pablo Atchugarry. This park displays several of his works along a scenic tour and has expanded significantly in recent years, including the construction of a remarkable architectural space that hosts events and exhibitions from various artists.

From the same creator, the Garzón Sculpture Park offers a unique platform in the region where artists can create outdoor sculptures and installations, which the public can enjoy as they interact with nature.

In José Ignacio’s Skyspace, artist James Turrell combines natural and artificial light in his Skyspace: “Ta Khut” creating a unique, magical sensory experience timed with each sunset. Open from November till end of April.

CAMPO is a creative institute based in Pueblo Garzón, Uruguay, that supports artists as agents of change by offering transformative experiences through various programs under the vast Uruguayan skies. For film lovers, the 16th edition of the José Ignacio International Film Festival (JIIFF) will take place from January 18 to 26, 2025. Celebrating a special anniversary, the JIIFF team is preparing for January 24th to 1st of February, 2026. For a week, JIIFF organizes a cinematographic agenda as rich as it is varied for different film-loving audiences. To complete a tour of the town, you can visit Galería De las Misiones in downtown José Ignacio, featuring a variety of exhibitions primarily by national artists. Additionally, Galería Los Caracoles, with 19 years of history in José Ignacio, is a unique contemporary art space with a distinctive style, curating pieces across disciplines with a setting specifically designed for the area. Today, they represent over 80 national artists.
